Sep 5 – Fantastic day in North Wales

First thing the sky was full of wave, with solid looking lenticulars behind the Lleyn Peninsular and towards Cader Idris.

By the time we started flying around 1130, the sky was filling with cumulus and the lenticulars had disappeared. Ryan in L8 and Robin in LGC both managed fly directly over Snowdonia where the cloudbase was around 3800′ There were hundreds of people climbing Snowdon and standing on the summit. We gave them all some good photo opportunities and it would be nice to see some of them. The picture shows the summit and railway station on the top.

Towards the end of the day Lofty and Richard managed to climb to 6000’+ in wave close to Snowdon.

We had quite a few arrivals and first flights giving our busiest day to date with 22 flights.

There were brilliant views of Wales, this one being from overhead Barmouth, showing the Maw estuary with Cadair Idris

Meanwhile back at the ranch, Trevor holds court.
