Sep 2 – Great day in spite of the damp forecast

We had a full contingent today and much enthusiasm to start exploring. The forecast was for a damp start, slowly improving with the risk of an odd shower. In the event Snowdonia did it’s thing and kept the showers locked over the mountains. The wind was light and the afternoon produced a slow improvement to a stunning day with several getting into a mix of wave and thermal that could worked to 6000′ behind Snowdon. Visibility was superb and everyone was taken the amazing views.

The local ridge became more and more soarable and everyone that sampled the hills had a great flight..

The picture shows the showers to the North of Snowdon and the Lleyn peninsular. Caernarvon is just through the gap on the right, Anglesey through the gap on the left.
