Another 13 adventure starts

Two weeks soaring the Alps seemed like a good idea. July seemed a good time. However, other events were to intervene..
RudderDamage
A “mind in neutral” Discus pilot towed his glider straight through the rudder of 13. It went through like a knife through butter and was totally destroyed. With two weeks to go to our trip things looked bad. However, Binder always come good, the morning after the event they were laying up a new rudder. This now meant our trip had to start from Ostheim in Germany after the fitting of that new rudder.
The next problem was the weather, low pressure had descended upon Europe. Not only the Alps but a huge area of Europe was now looking impossible for gliding for some days to come. The only glint of hope looked like SW France and Spain.
I had intended to do a daily post on the day, however, that has proved tricky. I will still do a daily post but it might be a few days late.
