May 12th – Mediterranean air

Today we pay the price for the great convergence of yesterday. The strong flow of air from the Mediterranean that caused the convergence has now swept far inland and left us in sea air. This accompanied by early morning stratus, then stratocu. By 2pm it had broken in to very hot sunshine with sharp thermals, but unfortunately, with a cloud base of less than 3000′

We did a couple of training/site check flights with new arrivals Alan Kirkman and Barry Michael.

In the evening Mark led a treasure hunt through the streets of Jumilla in search of a linen tablecloth from which to eat our evening meal. An interesting way to see the sites of Jumilla.
