May 5th – Best day yet

We did get a nice warm day today and with it a much higher cloud base almost 10,000′ from the word go. The x/c guys flew the length of the Segura and back for a 412km flight over some very exciting terrain. The photo today shows the Sierra Sagra which is nearly 8000′ but just off to the side of the main Segura massif.

Nick flew the task at 125kph and LGC managed over 100kph with Graham and Robin on board. Geoff and Rob also completed the task in “SI”

Today saw Roger, Joe, Steve N and Max return to the UK and Dan and Steve C join the party.

The Ontur team minus Roger and Phil who had already left for Alicante airport

ImageThe Sierra de la Sagra at 7818′ the highest mountain in the Segura but isolated on the South side. Cloud base where were was around 9500′ but, as you can see, much lower to the South
