Jan 3rd – Messy Day

Messy because the weather was not obvious what it was doing, messy because I couldn’t make up my mind which way to go, even the cloud we came across seemed to be telling us we were going the wrong way. In the event we struggled to thermal at all at the beginning then having chosen SE, we found ourselves with lowering cloudbase, when it subsided to 8000′ asl we headed NW. By Pokweni it was blue ahead but showing signs of spawning a few high based cu. This gave us route to the SW but the thermals were still ratty but at least we were a long way off the deck. Took an early shower!

Mountains just West of Reheboth late afternoon.

Wet towels and cold Savanna – worth landing for.
