Dec 23rd – 13’s 13th 1000km in spite of showery weather

We headed SW, with a strong tailwind and low cloud base (by Namibian standards) and were rewarded by a long cloud street of large clouds that were on their way being showers. But getting under them at the right moment gave us a very fast first leg of 300kms at 175kph. Heavy showers persuaded us to head North, and we had a pretty good leg to Reheboth. It was all about seeking out lines of energy today, as the day collapsed fairly early with huge dead areas caused by the massive showers. So it was particularly pleasing to get such a long flight in (1024k at 149kph).

The dramatic sky, looking North West, as we headed back to Kiripotib
