Dec 11th – Bagatelle for lunch

The forecast suggested a blue day with just cu in SE Namibia, blue elsewhere. There was a general feeling of not a great day and most elected not to fly. We decided to have lunch at the Bagatelle Game lodge set amongst the dunes, south of Bitterwasser. On the way we startled a springbok by the roadside and in his efforts to run away, it caught a leg in one the fences. Fortunately, (farmer) John Bally was with us and in a flash was on a rescue mission with a large stick which eased the wires and allowed the springbok to escape uninjured! In the context of springboks I thought you might like another picture of a group eyeing us from the top of a dune.
