Dec 10th – Botswana revisted

Set a 1000k with a promising forecast, but after 2 hours of flying NE it was still blue, we kept expecting cu to pop around us at any moment. However, we had to go some way in to Botswana to reach cu (about 250km in total). Turning S we finally had a nice run along a line of good cu. Turning back in to Namibia with a promising line of high based cu, it started fine but it soon became apparent that it was going blue and weakening and the wind was also increasing. However, it continued to work in the blue and we made it back without too much effort. Steve did all the hard work and I just barracked from the rear seat for a change.
