Nov 21st – Thick cloud again

A great swathe of altocu/altostratus (and most other varieties) was across us for most of the day. So we decided to do a 150km triangle; lunch at Kiripotib, then a bumpy glide to Bitterwasser, where we met up with a few old friends and had afternoon tea, then followed another dodgy glide to Pokweni, where we shared a beer (I was going to say sundowner, but there was no sun) with more friends including Walter and Petra Binder. Then the final glide back to Kiripotib, avoiding Kudu, Dik Dik, Oryx and Springbok all of which seemed bent on suicide with John’s bull bars.

The moon is shining clear now, so hopefully we’ll be back to flying tomorrow.

Bitterwasser’s famous Palm Alley, but quiet on the glider front.

Pokweni’s pan, no palm trees but all the gliders get to park under a long sun shade.
