Nov 17th – Only cu in the North East

A bit of lethargy crept in with the assembled pilots, with another blue day expected. So lunch was taken by all. As it was Al’s last day we were going fly whatever. You could just see cu about 75k from here, and after a number of blue thermals we reached the cu, and very good too, taking us straight to 15,000′ and later 17,000′. Managed to find a couple of excellent runs, one down to Aminuis and back and another to Great Ums and back. You probably need to see the trace to get the idea. “http://www.onlinecontest.org/olc-2.0/gliding/flightbook.html?sp=2013&st=olcp&rt=olc&pi=14781” Follow that link if you can. Anyway, a surprisingly good day with another 700k notched up.

The second of the 2 runs

The glow after the “on fire” day!
