Nov 6th – Blue day

We decided to focus on sightseeing today. The weather suggested a run out to the Gamsberg which sits on the edge of the Namibian plateau and then run along the edge to the South. In the event, it was blue all day but quite good, we reached 17,000′ about 30k before Gamsberg, but then lost 5,000′ before finding the next thermal, clearly Gamsberg itself was not a good area today, spectacular though the scenery was. So we scuttled off SE where we then ran back into better convection. This eventually gave us a relaxed 130km glide for an early finish. Rupert did most of today’s flight.
