Blue day in the Atlas

It was only 24 on the ground, but seemed likely the mountains would work. As you can see they did but good thermals were hard to find. We did pick a 7 knot climb off the end of this ridge which took us to 16000′, managed about 650km in all.

First impressions of the mountains, pretty intimidating, and nowhere to put down except the odd lake or a run out to lower ground and there’s not much there. For me I’d like to see cumulus and keeping above 10000′ seems sensible.
